My long-time buddy Jo & I ventured to Madison Square Garden to the hockey game last night, the New York Rangers' Heritage Night vs. another Original Six team, my Boston Bruins. I just read her blog and felt inspired to make my first post on blogger in over a year.
What an awesome game! My Bruins managed to hang on to their 3-2 lead to win the game. Late in the third, they had to kill off 1:45 of a Ranger two-man advantage. I know most probably didn't notice, but Mark Stuart was out there the entire kill. What a beast! His conditioning is phenomenal. Maybe I'm biased, but if I were in charge of picking the stars of the game, he'd have been #3 star based on the above alone!
Bonus: my three favorite Bruins (pictured above): Milan Lucic (goal), Mark Stuart (assist), and Nathan Horton (assist) all had points.
Bonus #2: Paul Wesley aka brooding Stefan Salvatore from Vampire Diaries was at the game. I know it's dorky, but I was really excited by that fact. LOL.
The fans there were cool. They teased me a bit for being a Bruins fan, but nothing too bad. The usher told me I couldn't come in his entrance (with a big smile). Then the guy handing out free posters said I couldn't have one. When he finally gave me one, I lightly batted him on the arm with it, to which he laughed.
Definitely look forward to going back! It's a beautiful arena. Check out my photos of the Bruins warm-ups here.
